MATE United FC was born on the pitches of Leeds with a simple belief: football can save lives. Originally formed as VCS United under the Vulnerable Citizen Support Leeds CIC, we are a diverse, open-age team with players from all walks of life, each with their own story.
Our pitch is a safe space. Whether you're going through tough times, battling your mental health, or just need a mate — we're here. No judgement. No egos. Just football, friendship, and a community that has your back.
Through our parent charity, we support some of the most vulnerable people across Leeds — from food parcels and welfare support to housing assistance and crisis intervention.
Three pillars that drive everything at MATE United FC.
We create a space where men feel safe to speak out about their mental health. Football breaks down barriers — on the pitch, nobody has to pretend they're fine. Our "Speak Out" ethos is at the heart of everything we do.
Through Vulnerable Citizen Support Leeds CIC, we deliver over 250 food parcels a week, run a baby bank, and provide welfare support to homeless and vulnerable adults across the city. Nobody gets left behind.
We play competitive and charity football across Leeds. From the Leeds Combination League to fundraising matches and family fun days, the beautiful game is our vehicle for change. All abilities, all backgrounds welcome.
